CHANGING OF THE GUARD

I have watched numerous news groups, read countless articles and listened to endless voices discussing the historical significant of today. Today is a day of change. A page in this great nation’s history has turned. A black man will hold the highest office in our nation. Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America.
As we look toward the future and what that future will mean with a change in the guard, I hope, as so many American’s do, that Obama will be able to create a UNITED states. So much of our nation is divided, and not just divided but polarized. Issues so vast and deeply rooted that opinions on them can create their own modern day Civil War - abortion, gay rights, the war in the Middle East, religion, government spending, economic recovery, the list goes on and on. Mr. Obama has a long hard road ahead of him to move this country forward. I am hopeful for the next four years.
